On the anniversary of the 911 attacks, two of our government buildings, the embassy in Egypt and the consulate in Libya, have been attacked by Islamic extremists. Reports are coming in that at least one “American official” was killed in Libya.
The attacks occurred as a result of an inflammatory movie, produced in America, that was perceived to be offensive to Islam and the prophet Mohammad .
Along with that, President Obama snubbed Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu once again, refusing to meet with him when he’s visits the US at the end of the month. Reports say the president has a ‘full schedule,’ but will make time to visit some of his court jesters of late night t.v.
People who know much more than I do believe Israel will launch attacks very soon. Some have speculated that if Netanyahu believes Obama will win in November, he will strike Iran before the election. The other premise is that he would wait if he thought he had an alley, meaning a Romney win, until after November 6.
The world is a very shaky place tonight, and it got even shakier with today’s events. War could come much faster than any of the pundits predicted, all because the US deserted our most trusted friend in the middle east.
As I said yesterday; You may not be at war, but your enemy is.

This is very scary, however, all we can do is pray for our Country and future. This reminds me of my devotional from earlier in the week, where Nehemiah was concerned about the welfare of his homeland, Jerusalem. He talked to God about it, since that’s all that he could do. In his prayer, he asked for mercy. God watched over Nehemiah and his people. My other devotional from last night talked about Psalm 91 and what do we do when the world seems dangerous? Although our instinct is to fret or hide, God wants us to do the opposite, and rest. It’s easy to hear the news and have our souls be restless, but God wants us to anchor ourselves in Him-His shelter is our refuge and is impenetrable. So, although I get troubled with hearing these reports, it’s important that all of us pray. That’s the only thing that will change our Presidential election and things that will happen. Like the song we sing at church says, “And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us? And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?”

When our beloved American flag was ruthlessly removed from our Embassy in Cairo, it was replaced with the ‘black flag’ of Islam. Immediatly I recalled the shouts of a prominant Imam in London (some 7 or 8 yrs ago) who vigoriously proclaimed that one day the “Black flag will fly over the White House”…… hmmm…..with the fondness of our POTUS for fellowshipping with the Muslim Brotherhood, one might wonder just how close we are to such a day? And on another front – praying for our nation – is anyone making the connection between the cries for our God to rule and overule the evil in our government, to protect and defend our beloved Republic as well as our soldiers on the front lines – and the answer we repeatedly receive? May I suggest that HE is looking for much more than our prayers? I believe that the Most High God has been waiting for and warning HIS people (not the unbelievers) to do something else: repent and return to OUR first love. And should one ask ‘from what do we need to repent?’ If we do not know, then I suspect that we are further away from Him than we ever dared to dream…..Meanwhile – the waiting and warning will not continue forever. We – the Body of CHRIST have pushed the ‘snooze’ button one too many times….and time – is about up. May God forgive me for not doing more to help awaken His Bride.

Having seen the movie “2016” recently, Obama’s actions, or inactions, are a direct reference to that documentary. He wants to see America as a second-world country as well as see the U. S. punished for what he calls imperialism in the rest of the world. I know our God is Sovereign, and He is aware of every thought and move that is made. My prayer is that Americans, especially Christians, are moved by the words from II Chronicles 7:14 and realize for Whom they must stand and for whom it is their duty to support in this election.
