I love Dr. Larry Arnn, President of Hillsdale College. He’s a brilliant, humble man who has a segment each week on the Hugh Hewitt Show called the Hillsdale Dialogue.

When he tells stories, especially both Biblical and on our American history, it reminds me of days when grampa sat the kids down and told stories around the fireplace. He has such a gift.

I encourage you to listen in and read anything he writes.images

On Friday’s show he approved of the US military strike on Syria calling it; “Strike and go home.

That brought me back to a period in David’s life when he was running from Saul and beat feet to Gath. Yea Gath, where Goliath and his homies were from (I Samuel 27:1-2).

David was being squeezed and made poor decisions because he didn’t ask the Lord what to do.

He was out of God’s will when he made this move.

David had his army with him, about six-hundred men, along with their women and kids – a pretty sizable force to move and feed (painting below is of his best troops).james-tissot-david-s-valiant-men

The way David supported them was to plunder. So he used quick strikes, taking everything and leaving no survivors (I Samuel 27: 8-9, 11).

The people and towns he raided were corrupt and had a history of attacking Israel, causing God to put His crosshairs on them long ago.

David may be doing the right thing (i.e., annihilating those God put under the ban), but for all the wrong reasons. God often accomplishes His will by means of self-serving men who only unwittingly do what God has purposed. This was true of Joseph’s brothers (see Genesis 50:20), and it seems so with David in Philistine territory. (1)david-spares-saul-1sam-24-27-1800x1127x300

David’s attacks were sudden and deadly – making sure no one ran back squealing to Achish (the name used for Philistine rulers, see v. 11 again).

Now, back to the strike in Syria.

It was good, and we don’t need to commit ground troops every time we use force – just send a message each time pip-squeak dictators resort to such barbarism.

If they gas their own people, they’ll gas us.

We need to find these cells, like the one responsible for the recent attack in Sweden, and take them out like David did.

Quick and deadly.

If these bums want to go back to the 7th Century, then let’s help ’em out.

Innocent people, whether they believe in Christ or not, are being slaughtered and it needs to stop now! How do you think Christ feels about that, especially at this time of year when He gave His life for the world?

Islam is on the move like Hitler was during the 30’s and we need to take the fight to them in the way it was demonstrated last week.images-nazism-0001

Again, let me remind you this is a world war. Islam wants the world bowing before the crescent.

By the way, I’m in the crowd that believes those chemical weapons were moved into Syria by Saddam Hussein prior to the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.

(George Bush did a terrible job making the case for that and defending his decision to go to war. John McCain, who rushes to a camera every chance he gets, ran a terrible campaign – two huge reasons why we got saddled with Barak Obama for eight, long years. Along with those conned into voting for him.)

Think back to the events of last week. Why do you think President Trump met with the King of Jordan and then broke bread with Chinese president?

It’s because he may have told them what was coming down the pike.

Here’s my take on how the conversation went while President Trump was having dinner with the President Jinping:

Trump “Hey, you should know I’m shelling Syria right now for gassing their citizens. Pass the won-tons.

And you better go back and tell that fat, little pot-bellied pig in N Korea that if he keeps it up, he’ll get the same. Pass the war-shu-gai” (Almond Chicken).27967789254d29b784166o

Admittedly, a good week for President Trump.

He was proven right that Obama and his ilk gathered intelligence illegally and caught them in another lie when they told us Syria had dumped their WMD’s way back when.

Then, he got the judge he wanted for the Supreme Court. Which is nice for him.

But let’s not get to excited and start dancing in the streets.

We’ve been kicked in the face before.

Most recently with Paul Ryan’s half-hearted attempt to “repeal” the health care law. (You should thank God for the Freedom Caucus.)

We hope he (Judge Gorsuch) turns out to be a tremendous justice because constitutional conservatives have been disappointed time and again. Constitutionalists have Justice’s Thomas and Alito – that’s it. Justice Roberts doesn’t count because of his betrayal on Obamacare.(2)

Don’t believe that media spiel that ”America is Back.”

The only thing we should do is get down on our face and crawl back to God, asking Him to forgive our stupidity, arrogance and sins.

Pay attention to what’s happening out there.

While you’re at it, pass the egg rolls.

Thanks for your insight, Steve! I agree completely.

I love this post! You are right on every point! I ALWAYS thought that Saddam Hussein moved his weapons and I wondered why it wasn’t talked about more. I used to get so angry when the media would say that Bush “lied”! What idiots! Saddam was a smart man. Of course!, he would hide those weapons in Syria.
