The statue of "Iron Mike" standing in a field at La Fiere, near Sainte-Mère-Église represents the paratroops of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions who fought in the area. IRON MIKE

The statue of “IRON MIKE” is a tribute by the French to members of the Army’s 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisons who liberted St Mere Eglise, France on June 6, 1944 (D-Day). Scripture tells us to never forget what “great things” God has Done for us. I’m honored to say that my father, his older brother and my mom’s two brothers fought during World War II.140604185340-ike-airborne-troops-story-top
