A young college student was excited to hear Joel Rosenberg speak at his university, challenging them to remain steadfast in their faith in order to fight evil.

Rosenberg then compared “the oppression of Hitler’s Nazi regime to the demanding precepts of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar in the book of Daniel. He noted that while the Babylonian empire is ancient history, Hitler’s oppression of Christians and the Third Reich’s “final solution” (Nazi death camps) proves that evil is just as prevalent in modern history.

(Hitler) was forcing people to bow down to worship the swastika. He was banning the Bible; he was banning the cross, banning the Gospel, taking over the church, creating the Third Reich Church, and then he was implementing final solutions.” (1)

Rosenberg asked students that if God judged Hitler’s Germany after the slaughter of 6 million Jews, what would He do to America now that abortions are climbing towards 60 million?

The Obama Administration deliberately thumbed it’s nose at God by promoting abortion, same-sex marriage and it’s woeful treatment of Israel. The Founders believed that God would judge nations based on the stands leadership takes.

Like the churches in Nazi Germany, many Christians have turned a blind eye to the things taking place today, and believe they don’t have to lift a finger to remain free.

Simeon Howard preached a sermon on Galatians 5:1 during the Founding Era and said: It is the duty of all men to stand fast in such valuable liberty, as Providence has conferred upon them.easter-storm-3-1024x682 Let me now offer a few considerations to shew the obligations men are under to defend that liberty which Providence has conferrred upon them. This is a trust committed to us by Heaven: we are accountable for the use we make of it, and ought therefore, to the best of our power to defend it…Out of faithfulness then, to God and in order to escape the doom of slothful servants, we should endeavor to defend our rights and liberities.” (2)

Howard told his congregation that failing to preserve what God gave them was dishonoring God, comparing it with the unjust servant who hid the money he had been entrusted with; “But in what way can a man be more justly chargeable with his neglect, than by suffering himself to be deprived of his life, liberty or property, when he might lawfully have preserved them?” (3)

Preaching like that was radical back then and it would be today. However, it would be too painful for today’s “hot tub Christian’s” to endure. (4)

That ‘young student’ was privileged to hear such a challenge; and to have a mother and father who loved him enough to send him to that school <3

I fear what it may take to awaken those napping in the pew, who have been lulled to sleep by the tempered words spoken in the pulpit of many of our churches, here in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

And I suspect we shall not have to wait too much longer to find out.
