Is this how it’s supposed to turn out, how it’s supposed to end? Are we to “sit here idle” (to quote Henry, who was quoting Christ) while President Obama, high ranking players from congress and the courts, lobbyists and special interests groups destroy our country?
Don’t give me that line, ‘our home is in heaven’. Our founders believed that, but also believed freedom belonged to every man and woman, for each generation to enjoy.
We’re still here and haven’t heard the whistle to climb aboard the “Happy Day” Express yet, and we have an enormous obligation to protect, and advance I might add, what we’ve been given.
Those were the talents Christ gave to every American who follows Him; “To whom much is given, much will be required (Luke 12:48, see also 1 Corinthians 4:2).”
Our forefathers stood against a maniacal potentate and kicked his butt back to England. In the process, many lost their lives to give us what we have today and what they never got to enjoy.
The “Baby-Boomer” generation has benefitted most and have done the least to preserve liberty. A military veteran told me that; “The greatest generation gave birth to the laziest.” No argument there.
Part of the problem is we haven’t properly informed ourselves when voting for candidates. If you or your kids believed the lies of the Left and voted for change, then some of this is on you. You own it, big time.
Secondly, America was set up for the people to tell their representatives what to do, not the other way around. However, we tossed that important responsibility into the hands of power-hungry individuals as our lifestyle and prosperity improved.
As Lincoln said, we became “too proud to pray to the God who created us” and things began rolling down hill.
Jedediah Morse warned us in an “Election Sermon” delivered in Charleston, Massachusetts on April 25, 1799 that is coming true; “To the kindly influence of Christianity we owe that degree of civil freedom, and political and social happiness which mankind now enjoys.
In proportion as the genuine effects of Christianity are diminished in any nation, either through unbelief, or the corruption of its doctrines, or the neglect of its institutions in the same proportion will the people of that nation recede from the blessings of genuine freedom, and approximate the miseries of complete despotism.
I hold this to be a truth confirmed by experience…If so, it follows, that all efforts to destroy the foundations of our holy religion, ultimately tend to the subversion also of our political freedom and happiness. Whenever the pillars of Christianity shall be overthrown, our present republican forms of government, and all the blessings which flow from them, must fall with them.” (1)
As in Henry’s day the war has already started, maybe as far back as the 40’s, and evil is smothering our land.
Had enough of elected officials ignoring the law and shoving their agenda down your throat? Tired of anarchists disrupting businesses or your way of life while they try to destroy the morale and efforts of local law enforcement? (This page in their playbook came from The Nazi’s of the 30’s).
Tired of government officials and judges acting like tyrants?
Tired of morons killing innocent people no matter where the location is? In the latest shooting, Christians and non-believers alike were killed by this banana pie.
Tired of all this garbage?
Then consider Henry’s words; “There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come. It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace but there is no peace. The war is actually begun!
The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!
By the way, this speech is also considered by many to be a prayer for God’s intervention.
It’s on, and these thugs won’t stop until the bury us.
To start with, Christians must humble ourselves before God (2 Chronciles 7:14), fear Him and Him alone (Psalms 147:11 and Proverbs 1:7, And if we have a healthy fear of the Lord, we won’t fear anyone or anything), allow His Word to abide us and we in Him (John 15:1-5), then announce boldly to the country what He’s done (Romans 1:16-17). (2)
Then, and only then, can it be said we’ve done our duty and let the chips fall where He wills….(1 Chronicles 19:13, see also Nehemiah 4:14).
