A ‘division of the house,’ literally speaking, occurred yesterday between delegates at the DNC after a motion was made by former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland to put the words God and Jerusalem back into the platform. A voice vote was held and it’s clear, after watching the video and listening to the audio, that a majority of delegates voted against the change. However, the higher ups in the party went against the wishes of the delegates, and ordered the change for political reasons.

As I watch the continual hijacking of a once great party by radicals, I want to direct your attention to what George Washington said during his Farewell Address, when he warned of the dangers of political parties:

They serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation, the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels, and modified by mutual interests. However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people, and to usurp for themselves the reins of government; destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.

Nothing happens by accident in politics, and the antics on the floor at the DNC yesterday was huge. They hoisted a trial balloon, starting within their own party, to see if Americans are willing to abandon the founding principles of our Republic in favor of the nanny state.

I want to remind you that the Declaration of Independence, called our national charter by some prominent historians, has four very specific references to God in it (I’ll have more to say on that in the days ahead as the election approaches).

We can trust nothing the leadership of the Democrat party says, nor does it matter what the language they incorporate into their platform. Division of the house seems to be the norm, and as Lincoln said; “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

Fact is, the last four years have shown the party has displayed open hostility towards religion, specifically Christianity, and to Israel, our most trusted ally in the Middle East.

As our mom’s used to say; ‘Actions speak louder than words.’

Actions certainly speak louder than words. Although I am not giving much of my time to the present convention, I saw reruns of this particular action for the Democratic platform. To me, the sound of the ‘nays’ were louder than the ‘yeas.’ Simply reinserting the word “God” and “Jerusalem” means nothing. ACTIONS DO SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS!

You are correct in your assessment of things. While I’m at it, the statement by Washington applies just as much to the GOP as it does to the Dems.

At this point, our ONLY hope to restore America back to its founding ways IS the Republicans. At least that is what their Campaign has been about, so far. Christians need to take notice and become involved. Where are the voices of the Christians? Pray that those(Christians) whom God has placed in office will stand up and not compromise.

Both parties have been the problem. Men and women of principle, from both sides, need to make sure the Constitution is adhered to, something that has not been done for many years. That being said, our faith always plays an important role in things, and that is something we can and need to do…(i.e. “with a firm reliance in the protection of Divine Providence…”). Thanks for taking time to write, too!

Dad, although my comment isn’t pertaining specifically to this article, I’m proud of the work that you are doing with this blog and in getting this information out. Keep up the good work!

I was stunned watching that vote take place. Sure was a clear revelation of the core of that party, and such a cold contrast to the “warm fuzzies” planned for their people later that evening!

Seems mention of God had been QUIETLY removed from the platform, and also the statement that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, so as not to offend the godless Democratic base.

But thanks to those who noticed these omissions (Christians and Jews) the Dems received some flak as it began to be broadcast in the media. Obama feared losing supporters or closing the door for possible swing voters over these omissions so he (or his handlers) pushed to have these “items” reinstated in the platform. BUT they did this in a rather covert way too. Before everyone arrived that night they presented the vote early to perhaps only a quarter (at best) of the delegates!

What was so heartbreaking was that there was at least as loud an outcry against these things being brought back into the platform. Nevertheless the vote was called in favor! And this caused some very vocal opposition to boo the decision!

Obviously, it was already a done deal that needed no approval from the delegates because Obama knew that the atheists, gays, pro-abortion, and Muslims would not leave the Democratic Party because they have nowhere else to go.

But might those who call themselves “Christians and Jews” standing on that godless platform have walked off? Sadly, after witnessing that vote and the rest of the convention, I think not!

I truly do fear that our “silent majority” isn’t the majority any longer!
