Mike+Lee+Ted+Cruz+Senate+Holds+Senate+Joint+GwQSDkPaj2sxSenators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee did what they’re paid to do, defend the Constitution and standing up for the will of the American people – and they’ve been getting pounded by the Washington Culture ever since.

The Washington Culture are those who think of themselves as “the permanent ruling class” made up of career politicians, media pundits, lobbyists and staffers. (1)

The real battle taking place is whose will is going to be jammed down our throats. Some of these guys don’t give a rip about doing what’s right for the country or what we think. When they don’t get their way they launch attacks against their opponents, including us. They manufacture crisis to grab more power.

The president loves to use scare tactics and threats when he’s told no, and now he’s prepared to close up shop. Well, let him knock himself out.

Between 1977-95 Washington shut down seventeen times and when the “open for business” signs came back on America was still standing (2).

Essential services are always in place, but with this guy there’s no telling how far he’ll go to get his way in order to show us that he’s the boss.

Obama won’t work with Congress but has no problem engaging in talks with Iran’s President Rouhani, an Islamic hardliner and killer, who was pals with the Ayatollah back in ’79 when the country went rogue.

Rouhani is playing the world for fools, telling us what we want to hear while his nation is moving to blow Israel, and the West, off the map. Don’t buy the line that Obama is being used – he knows exactly what he’s doing. I’ve never said the man was stupid.

Yesterday the House threw things back on the Senate by passing legislation that keeps the government open, but delaying implementation of the health care law for a year. They also voted to repeal the medical-device tax (which is a main source of funding for the health care law) along with making sure our troops get paid. Both are good things for us.

Reid and the WH said they would reject the bill.

Throughout American history presidents have provided steady leadership and worked to distill fears during crucial times. Men like Washington, Lincoln, Jackson and ‘Ike‘ come to mind.

I’m also reminded of the encouraging words Hezekiah delivered to his people when his nation was under the gun. They were so powerful that the biblical records reflects ‘the people rested themselves’ in them (2 Chronciles 32:7-8). He wasn’t too proud to pray, either (2 Kings 19:14-19).

There’s Another who commands us in times of uncertainty and turmoil to rest in Him. Beginning in Genesis 15:1 and weaving it’s way throughout scripture, we have the beginning of the famous “FEAR NOT Promises where the Lord Jesus tells us not to panic.

Recently, I found a card in a bookstore with an artist’s conception of Christ rescuing2001989-P Peter from the sea. The artist portrayed a rugged-looking Christ pulling Peter up by his wrist with only His right hand – saving him from the waves that were about to swallow him. Above the painting were the words, “He has brought you this far…” and when you opened the card it ended with, “and He’s not letting go now.”  (3)

It impacted me so much that I bought it to keep as a reminder that He’ll always be there, even when it looks like everything is falling apart

Rest in this, but act by contacting your senators and telling them that the blame of any government shutdown rests on the shoulders of Harry Reid and President Obama.

Remember, the M.O. of despots are threats, intimidation and scare tactics.

The WH and the press are pushing this a republican issue. The House of Reps are fulling the will of the people. They need to stay firm. We need to contact them and encourage them to continue the cause and stop this disastrous law. I am shocked that Obama can unconstitutionally delay portions of the bill just because his lobbyists tell him he should but when one side of congress votes to do so the other side wants to shut down the government to prevent it. Let them shut it down!
