images-2We’re hearing a lot about pings and turtles, but I won’t be surprised if that missing plane turns up intact in some rouge country run by radical muslims. It’s called a “red herring” and it’s “A clue that is or is intended to be misleading or distracting. To divert attention away from the real problem.

Which brings us to Nevada where the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has been confiscating cattle belonging to rancher Clive Bundy whose family “owns the water and foraging rights, and has grazed and worked the land” since the mid 1800’s.

This mess started back in 1993 when the BLM cited concern for the federally protected desertblm tortoise. That’s the “red herring.” What mainstream media hasn’t told us is that the turtles and the cows have gotten along just fine over the years.

The fed’s issued a fatwa on behalf of the turtles and set up a sanctuary to preserve them. Problem is, the turtle population grew enormously forcing the feds to euthanize what they claimed they were there to protect in the first place.

They also allege Bundy quit paying his grazing fee’s and owes over a million bucks. Bundy disputes this, and has been paying fees to the county instead. Since ’93 there have been numerous court battles over fees and removing his herd from the land, which Bundy has disregarded.

bund2So, the feds sent in armed storm troopers in order to force Bundy to move. However, unlike the other ranchers who were driven out of business due to federal arm twisting, Bundy didn’t flinch. He was also joined by other American citizens, many of them armed, that came from Nevada and other states.

As tensions soared BLM issued this statement yesterday: “Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gathering because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public.”

So, after using intimidation tactics, and at times low-level instances of force (tasers), the Feds packed up in left – in the interest of public safety. Yea, right!

Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader from Nevada, is a very powerful man who wields a lot of influence there, bringing many to conclude this was not about turtles but stealing someone else’s property under color of law.

The current director of the BLM is Neil Kornze, who before coming to work there was SeniorUnknown-2 Policy Advisor to Reid from 2003-2011.

This story isn’t over and I do think the Fed’s will be back another day. We’ll also have to wait to see how deep this goes with Reid and his “puppet” Kornze. One of Reid’s political contributors, Harvey Whitmore, is also doing time in a federal pen for illegal campaign contributions. So, this has a lot of arms and has a ways to go before we get to the truth (if ever).

This is also about the  mistreatment of law-abiding Americans like Mr. Bundy by the people sworn to protect him.

ranch12n-7-webThe Fed’s sent armed men onto Bundy’s property, ready to move heaven and earth, in order to take it. Yet, they won’t lift a finger to secure the borders against thugs, terrorists and drug cartels entering illegally that threaten the safety of Americans.

That’s your government today.

Thanks for sharing this information Dad. I took an interest in reading about this, but didn’t know much about the situation until you gave me this information. Of course hardly anyone but Fox News was sharing this as it was going on….
