Phillistines defeat IsraelitesAfter Israel was kicked around the battlefield, resulting in the loss of over 30,000 troops in two battles, instead of looking inward they argued with God.

After the first drubbing they demanded to know why God allowed such bad things to happen (1 Samuel 4:3). Instead of humbling themselves before God, they looked to external things, relied on the past and brought the Ark into battle to help in the war effort.eli02

They went out a second time, got trounced again and lost the Ark to boot.

When the Towers fell we started singing “God Bless America,” and pronounced all was good between us and God. There was a short reprieve, but we went back to old ways and habits, which used to be called sin, failing to realize He was removing His protective hand from off of us.shmuel-a04b-eli

Jeremiah 25:6 records the Lord saying; “Provoke me not to anger with the works of your hand, and I will do you no hurt.” Well, we didn’t listen and now blood is flowing through the streets of our cities.

Next time an “armed intruder” strikes, be it a jihadist or one of our home grown banana pies, remember this – Obama is provoking God with his policies.

He fired the first shot in the latest salvo by ‘poking’ God in the eye, celebrating the Supreme Court’s unconstitutional decision validating same-sex marriage by lighting up the White House with the colors of the rainbow.

His administration vigorously promotes and glorifies “the right”, in the name of Choice, to have infants butchered inside clinic walls. At the same time, a majority of Christians have turned a blind eye to this.

By doing this, Obama’s has invited God to step in and burns us. Yep, he’s the smartest man in the world alright.

Matthew Henry say’s God “often delays the punishment of sin for a great while; it is laid up in store, till the measure be full, and the day of divine patience has expired (See also Job 21:28-30)…there is a day of reckoning coming, when all the treasures of guilt and wrath will be broken up…the thing itself will certainly be done, for the Lord is a God to whom vengeance belongs and therefore He will repay (Isaiah 59:18 and Hebrews 10 30).”dark-clouds-white-house

Well, it’s here now and I expect it will continue until we realize the miserable state we’re in (Judges 10:10-16) .

You have spoken truth; but few are listening. Even fewer are listening to our GOD.
