Here is one source, sent to me by a friend, that tells of General Ham being relieved of his command while the attack in Banghazi was in progress.

According to our sources, General Ham received copies of the e-mails that had been sent to the White House from Benghazi, requesting military support at the Consulate and the Annex after the attacks began. General Ham had a rapid response unit ready to deploy and communicated that to the Pentagon. He then received the order to stand down. His response to the Pentagon was essentially that he could not do that. Within a few minutes after sending that response, his second in command told General Ham that he was relieved of his command, effective immediately.” (1)

INCREDIBLE! I’m one who attempts to ascribe “best intentions” to the motives of others even when I do not agree with their perspective and/or actions. And I do understand that the military is all about being under authority…But relieved of command for voicing a desire to act when action is needed? As you’ve said Steve, it seems there are nefarious motives driving current events.
