<p style="text-align: left;">Continuing on the theme of &#8220;staying in the fight,&#8221; I want to bring it home with incident that happened almost thirty years ago to a young Los Angeles police officer by the name of Stacy Lim.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">On June 9, 1990, Stacy was on her way home after playing in a department softball game. She was tired and didn&#8217;t notice she was being followed by 5 gang-bangers who were planning to kill her and steal her car.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Although off duty, Lim routinely placed her pistol under her left arm when she arrived home each night before exiting her car. She didn&#8217;t realize one of the thugs snuck up on her and pointed a .357 Magnum at her until the last second.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Stacy drew her weapon, identified herself and ordered the man to drop his gun. Both fired at the same time. A round <strong><em>&#8220;struck her square in the center of the chest. Stacy&#8217;s round hit the suspect in the shoulder.</em><em> </em></strong><strong><em>The bullet entered Stacy&#8217;s chest, knicked the base of her heart, her diaphragm, liver, intestine, and shattered her spleen, before exiting through a tennis ball sized hole in her back. </em>(2)</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Seriously wounded, Lim gave chase where the gunfight continued until Lim ended it by pumping three rounds into the bad boy. The other &#8220;perps&#8221; fled the scene, but were arrested hours later.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">When responding officers arrived they found the suspect dead and Lim lying on the ground.<a href="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/iu-5.jpeg"><img class="aligncenter wp-image-6805 " style="margin-top: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px;" src="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/iu-5.jpeg" alt="iu-5" width="147" height="190" /></a>On our spiritual journey there will be difficult times, times in the valley, where we&#8217;ll take incoming rounds. And they will be painful.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Lim described being shot this way: <strong><em>&#8220;If you take a javelin, heat up about a 1,000 degrees, shove the thing through your chest, that&#8217;s what it feels like &#8211; a real burning sensation.&#8221; </em>(3)<a href="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/iu1.jpeg"><img class="aligncenter wp-image-6800 size-medium" style="margin-top: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px;" src="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/iu1-300x225.jpeg" alt="iu" width="300" height="225" /></a></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Lim&#8217;s training kicked in that night. She took a good shooting stance and engaged the assailant.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">People have talked themselves into dying after being seriously injured, but Stacy refused to cave. She isn&#8217;t a survivor, her mindset to overcome allowed her to prevail over her attacker.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Although her heart stopped once that night, Stacy never quit fighting and returned to active street duty 8 months later.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This incident is a powerful example of what it means to do all you can &#8220;<strong><em>to stand</em></strong>&#8221; even when fiery darts hit their intended target.</p>

<p>My family is in the midst of an intense spiritual battle going into its third year. During this time we have seen God wonderfully provide and work on our behalf. But, we&#8217;ve also been on the receiving end of some well placed rounds by the &#8220;Evil One.&#8221; Some of them have been so devastating they&#8217;ve knocked us off our feet so to speak.</p>
<p>If he could, Satan would wipe out our families. <strong>(1)</strong></p>
<p>But thank God for &#8220;the hedges&#8221; He puts around His own.</p>
<p>Over the Christmas weekend we were struck, blindsided is a better word, by another one of his darts. It caught me by surprise and knocked the &#8220;dog snot&#8221; out of me. However, the Lord impressed upon me to get up and continue the fight even after being wounded.</p>
<p>I reverted to my training, realizing being knocked to the ground doesn&#8217;t mean I&#8217;m done in. I&#8217;ve been there before and understood what that means. It also means that I&#8217;m to continue fighting like a cornered &#8220;sewer rat.&#8221;<a href="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/iu1.png"><img class="aligncenter wp-image-6749 size-medium" style="margin-top: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px;" src="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/iu1-300x157.png" alt="iu" width="300" height="157" /></a>That &#8220;still small voice&#8221; impressed upon me to continue swinging &#8220;The Sword of the Spirit,&#8221; get back on my feet and move to cover using &#8220;The Shield of Faith.&#8221;</p>
<p>I&#8217;m determined to pump more of His Word into me, so when the next attack comes I&#8217;ll fight &#8211; even if I get knocked off balance.</p>
<p>The Word endurance kept coming to mind, and I realize we may be in this fight for the long haul. As sure as I&#8217;m sitting here, Satan will be waiting to crank more rounds our way.</p>
<p>Remember this; the gun still fires when you&#8217;re on the ground. Next time when you&#8217;re on the receiving end of one of Satan&#8217;s attacks stay in the fight and keep fighting. Use the gear God has provided.</p>

<p>I won&#8217;t bore you with all the violations taking place by those in Congress who call themselves &#8220;representatives of the people.&#8221; What has been done to this nation over the last two-and one half years as a result of a bogus investigation against the President and his family is criminal.</p>
<p>However, permit me to share a few lines from one pastor&#8217;s sermon during America&#8217;s Founding. Mayhew was setting his sights on George III, but apply what he&#8217;s preaching to those in Congress today.</p>
<p>&#8220;<em>In America&#8230;resistance to oppression had been a favorite topic in Yankee pulpits for more than a century. Indeed, a quarter of a century before Paul Revere&#8217;s night ride, one of its most articulate (albeit increasingly liberal) proponents, Jonathan Mayhew of Boston, preached:<a href="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/founding-fathers-declaration-of-independence-e1278425364618.jpg"><img class="aligncenter wp-image-3599 size-medium" style="margin-top: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px;" src="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/founding-fathers-declaration-of-independence-e1278425364618-300x204.jpg" alt="founding-fathers-declaration-of-independence-e1278425364618" width="300" height="204" /></a></em></p>
<p><em>&#8220;<strong>It is blasphemy to call tyrants and oppressors God&#8217;s ministers&#8230;When magistrates rob and ruin the public, instead of being guardians of its peace and welfare, they immediately cease to be the ordinance and ministers of God, and no more deserve that glorious character than common pirates and highwaymen</strong>.</em>&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;<em>Fifteen years later, the hated Stamp Act brought forth this response from Mayhew:</em></p>
<p><strong><em>&#8220;The king is a much bound by his oath not to infringe the legal rights of the people, as the people are bound to yield subjection to him. From whence it follows that as soon as the prince sets himself up above the law, he loses the king in the tyrant. He does, to all intents and purposes, un-king himself by acting out of and beyond that sphere which the constitution allows him to move in, and in such cases he has no more right to be obeyed than any inferior officer who acts beyond his commission. The subject&#8217;s obligation to allegiance then ceases, of course, and <span style="text-decoration: underline;">to resist</span> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">him is no more rebellion than to resist  any foreign invader</span>&#8230;it is making use of the means, and the only means, which God has put into their power for mutual and self-defense.</em></strong>&#8221; <strong>(1)</strong></p>

<p><strong>The Bladensburg Cross</strong> &#8211; The Supreme Court, in a surprising move this week, ruled a war memorial in the shape of a cross could remain on public lands.</p>
<p><em>They were farmers, surgeons, a professor, even the president of the Marine Corps baseball team. One was a man in his 50s, already wounded, who had &#8220;no business being on the front lines.&#8221; They were 49 men with one thing in common: they never came home. Today, most Marylanders couldn&#8217;t tell you their stories. That&#8217;s because 100 years after the war ended, we&#8217;re too busy fighting for what those heroes died to give us: freedom.</em></p>
<p><em>It&#8217;s been 94 years since a grieving mom pulled the flag away from the base of a 40-foot cross, revealing the names of almost 50 soldiers &#8212; mostly boys &#8212; who gave their lives in World War 1. For almost a century, the cross has stood against the sky, one mile from the D.C. line, a fixture against an ever-changing landscape. It&#8217;s survived a second world war, Korea, the Cuban missile crisis, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, 9/11, and now &#8212; thanks to the Supreme Court &#8212; its biggest battle: radical extremists, bent on tearing the memorial down because it was in the shape of a cross.</em></p>
<p><em>By a 7-2 vote, the justices were clear, <strong>&#8220;The cross is undoubtedly a Christian symbol, but that fact should not blind us to everything else that the Bladensburg Cross has come to represent. For some, that monument is a symbolic resting place for ancestors who never returned home. For others, it is a place&#8230; to</strong></em><strong> <em>gather and honor all veterans and their sacrifices for our Nation. For others still, it is a historical landmark.&#8221; At its core, they insist, it&#8217;s &#8220;part of the community.&#8221; In fact, the justices argued, &#8220;its removal or radical alteration at this date would be seen by many not as a neutral act but as the manifestation of a hostility toward religion that has no place in our Establishment Clause traditions&#8230;&#8221;<a href="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/iu-15.jpeg"><img class="aligncenter wp-image-6363 size-medium" style="margin-top: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px;" src="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/iu-15-300x172.jpeg" alt="iu-15" width="300" height="172" /></a></em></strong></p>
<p><em>In a concurring opinion, Justice Neil Gorsuch talked about how tired he is of this &#8220;<strong>I-take-offense&#8221; threshold for suing. &#8220;In a large and diverse country, offense can be easily found. Really, most every governmental action probably offends somebody. No doubt, too, that offense can be sincere, sometimes well taken, even wise. But recourse for disagreement and offense does not lie in federal litigation. Instead, in a society that holds among its most cherished ambitions mutual respect, tolerance, self-rule, and democratic responsibility, an &#8216;offended viewer&#8217; may &#8216;avert his eyes&#8217;&#8230;or pursue a political solution.&#8221; In other words, Gorsuch insisted, if secularists are this upset about the memorial, take it up with the legislature! After all, Justice Kavanaugh added, &#8220;This court is not the only guardian of individual rights in America.&#8221;</strong></em></p>
<p><em>As grateful as we are for the victory, there are many &#8212; FRC included &#8212; who were hoping the justices would take the opportunity to overhaul the mess our courts have made of the Establishment Clause. Protecting war memorials is important, but these issues will continue to bubble up if the Supreme Court doesn&#8217;t scrap the &#8220;Lemon test&#8221; that&#8217;s driven the attacks on other faith-based monuments and displays. Justice Thomas was certainly more than ready to.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>&#8220;Nearly half a century after Lemon,&#8221; Thomas writes, &#8220;and, the truth is, no one has any idea about the answers to these questions. As the plurality documents, our &#8216;doctrine [is] in such chaos&#8217; that lower courts have been &#8216;free to reach almost any result in almost any case.&#8217; Scores of judges have pleaded with us to retire Lemon, scholars of all stripes have criticized the doctrine, and a majority of this Court has long done the same. Today, not a single Member of the Court even tries to defend Lemon against these criticisms &#8212; and they don&#8217;t because they can&#8217;t&#8230; It is our job to say what the law is, and because the Lemon test is not good law, we ought to say so.&#8221;</em></strong></p>
<p><em>As we explained in FRC&#8217;s amicus brief, religion has a natural, proper, and even essential role in our public life and the life of our military. <p><strong>Due Process Still Under Assault</strong> &#8211; Courtroom drama unfolded this week after &#8220;<em>A medic testifying in the trial of Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher – who is accused of killing an injured ISIS prisoner of war in Iraq – shocked trial observers when he testified Thursday that he, not Gallagher, was responsible for the Islamic militant&#8217;s death.</em></p>
<p><em>Special Operator 1st Class Corey Scott, a SEAL Team Seven medic, revealed during cross-examination in the courtroom at Naval Base San Diego that he killed the fighter by asphyxiation. Scott testified that he saw Gallagher stab the fighter, but then he himself held his thumb over a breathing tube that had been inserted into the militant&#8217;s mouth.</em></p>
<p><em>“Did Chief Gallagher kill this terrorist?” Gallagher&#8217;s attorney Timothy Parlatore then asked Scott&#8230;&#8221;No&#8221;, Scott replied&#8230;</em></p>

<p>Despite the &#8220;shocking testimony&#8221; which turned the case upside down, military prosecutors are charging ahead with prosecuting Gallagher. Unbelievable!</p>
<p>We should never forget what American forces endured during World War II on Iwo Jima and Guam. Don&#8217;t forget what happened on those islands. American troops fought to win. The Japs took no prisoners and tortured our boys in the night so our troops could hear the screams.</p>
<p>The Marines decided they werent taking prioners either. We won, they lost. We know what isis is and what isis has done.</p>
<p>We can&#8217;t send men into war and expect things to be bed and roses. Who cares about an isis fighter. President Truman dropped bombs because the Japs would not surrender unconditionally. Many are attempting to rewrite history, and call what Truman ordered as a grave act of inhamanity.</p>
<p>Hey! It ended the war. If the war went on, a million more Americans would have been killed. We need to consider what isis has done throught the world, and no one should care. <strong>(3)</strong></p>

It’s called the <strong>Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.</strong></p>
<p><strong><em>It had one objective, and that was <span style="text-decoration: underline;">to force lawmakers to go on the record about whether they support or</span> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">oppose infanticide.</span></em></strong> It was just a bill in the Senate. There is no counterpart in the House. The bill had no hope of becoming law, at least not any time soon, sadly. <em><strong>It was simply what Sasse says it is. “I’m gonna put people on the record.” </strong></em><strong>(1)</strong></p>
<p>“<em>It’s cowardly for a politician to say they’ll fight for the little guy but only if the little guy isn’t an actual seven-pound baby who’s fighting for life. It shouldn’t be hard to protect newborn babies – let’s pass this legislation.</em>” <strong>(2)</strong></p>
<p>In Detroit, there&#8217;s a radio talk show that comes on every Saturday morning from 8:00 am -10:00 am, called <em>Joshua&#8217;s Trail</em>.*</p>

<p>The leader of this wonderful group is Elder Pastor, Dr. Levon R. Yuille, known to regular listeners as &#8220;Brother Lee.&#8221; Brother Lee made a great point when talking about abortion and Chrisitan&#8217;s need to line up their votes according to what is outlined in Scripture.</p>
<p>His motto is &#8220;<em>Looking at life through the lense of scripture.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>He pointed out that God&#8217;s commands supercede everything. &#8220;He that has my commands and keeps them, He it is that loves me&#8221; (John 14:21).</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve been thinking about that since then. Politics and the Bible do go hand in hand. Christians cannot vote for a party or an individual who promotes a platform that God detests (See Romans 1:18-32, this section of Scripture is what John MacArthur now calls the Platform of the Democrat Party).</p>
<p>The Democrat Party &#8220;is out of the closet&#8221; now when it comes to life. Judging by this vote, there are no moderate Democrats left in the Senate and House. <strong>(4)</strong></p>
<p>All Democrats candidates currently running for president voted to oppose granting human status to a baby.</p>
<p>John Adams said our government was made &#8220;<em>for a moral and a <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">religous</span></strong> people.</em>&#8221;</p>
<p>To understand what that means, one must look up the word <em>religious</em>. According to Noah Webster&#8217;s 1860 Unabridged Dictionary it means; &#8220;<em>performance of all known duties to God</em>&#8221; and &#8220;<em>with love and reference to the Supreme Being in obedience to His Divine Commands.</em>&#8220;<a href="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/senatorsagainstbornalive-768x644.png"><br />

Politics are a part of a religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to their country as a part of their duty to God . . .<strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">God will bless or curse this nation according to the course Christians take in politics.</span></strong></em><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">”</span></strong></p>

<p>I grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, which is a suburb of Detroit. It was and still is, a wonderful place to raise a family.</p>
<p>One prominent church, very close to my old home, is Saint Isaac Jogues Catholic Church . Many friends and families I was acquainted with attended there. It was and I’m sure still is, a valuable commodity in that city.</p>
<p>I was humbled to learn the price Isaac Jogues paid for bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Huron Indians.</p>
<p>Isaac Jogues was the companion of Father Jean de Brebeuf who was killed by Iroquois Indians after being brutally tortured.</p>
<p>“In 1642, while returning from a journey to Quebec to secure supplies, Father Jogues and his party were ambushed by Iroquois.</p>
<p>He managed to escape, but when he saw that several of his companions had been taken prisoner, he surrendered himself and joined them.</p>
<p><em>“Could I indeed abandon them without giving them help which the Church of my God has entrusted me? Flight seemed horrible to me. If it must be, I said in my heart, that my body suffer the fire of earth, in order to deliver these poor souls from the flames of hell, it is but a transient death, in order to procure for them an eternal life.”</em></p>
<p>The Indians tore out their captives’ fingernails with their teeth, gnawed their fingers, and cut off a thumb or forefinger of each. <p>Men like Isaac Jogues risked everything, including their lives, to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Indians.</p>
<p>Will we now surrender our heritage to a few Leftists who seek to revise our history?</p>
<p>Without a doubt, these savages would have killed each other off if these men didn’t bring “The Message of Hope in Christ” to them.</p>
<p>Alexander Solzhenitsyn once said; <em>“To destroy a people you must first sever them from their roots.”</em></p>
<p>Since the end of World War II, we’ve allowed Marxist’s to remove everything associated with our Christian faith. They won’t rest until every vestige of Christianity is erased from American culture.</p>
<p>As one radio talk show host commented; <em>“In order to keep the mob at bay before they really get mad at us, we’re gonna eliminate whatever it is that might upset them. Even though we do not know who they are! We have no idea who this mob is, we don’t know where they live, we don’t know how honest they are. But, boy, can they ruin things! So we’re gonna take preemptive action to make sure that anything that might offend any one of them is covered up.”</em></p>

<p>As Jedediah Morse warned, <em>“To the kindly influence of Christianity we owe that degree of civil freedom and political and social happiness which mankind now enjoys. All efforts made to destroy the foundations of our Holy Religion ultimately tend to the subversion also of our political freedom and happiness. In proportion as the genuine effects of Christianity are diminished in any nation… in the same proportion will the people of that nation recede from the blessings of genuine freedom… Whenever the pillars of Christianity shall be overthrown, our present republican forms of government – and all the blessings which flow from them – must fall with them.”</em></p>
<p>We learned a lesson last week from the young man from Covington; If one stands their ground, the opposition goes away.</p>

<p>This &#8220;sewer rat&#8221; had been deported numerous times and had gang ties. The local sheriff said Offier Singh&#8217;s death was preventable were it not for California&#8217;s SB-54, which forbids local police departments working with ICE (Immigration and Custom Enforcement).</p>
<p>We hear a great deal about immigrant families being separated when they attempt to enter the country illegally. Yet, we&#8217;ll never hear a peep from media or politicians about the permanent separation that takes place when an illegal immigrant kills an American citizen.</p>
<p>Lately, all we&#8217;re hearing about is two sick kids dying in federal custody. Yet, not one politician or media pundit has asked how many kids died on the trek to the US border or questioned the irresponsible parents who forced them to make the trip in the first place.</p>
<p>&#8220;<em>The Bible has much to say about immigrants&#8230;Over the years there has been considerable disagreement between Christian pastors about whether illegal aliens should be treated as lawbreakers or just allowed to live out there lives in the United States without interference from the government. Some support amnesty. Others support sending illegal immigrants back to their home country. There is always the argument that there are more law-abiding illegals who work hard and struggle to achieve the American dream, than there are criminal illegals who are taking advantage of the system. Some argue that Christian charity must supersede the law. Others argue that illegals are breaking the law as their first act of coming to this country illegally.</em></p>
<p><em>Exodus 22:21 says, &#8220;You shall neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him.&#8221; This theme is repeated in Exodus 23:9, Leviticus 19:33, Deuteronomy 23:7, Ezekiel 22:29 and others. The Bible also says in Exodus 12:49, &#8220;One law shall be to him that is home-born, and unto the foreigner who sojourns among you.&#8221; This theme is repeated in Leviticus 24:22, and Numbers 9:14, 15:15, 16, 29, among others. Deuteronomy 24:17 says, &#8220;You shall not pervert the justice due the stranger.&#8221; <strong>Clearly, the scriptures say to treat immigrants fairly, but they are to obey the law.</strong></em><strong>&#8220;</strong> <strong>(1)</strong><br />

<p>Illegal aliens break the law and many have no allegiance to the US. What&#8217;s more, politicians and media openly encourage this conduct by bringing suit against the federal government, establishing &#8220;sanctuary cities&#8221; and enacting stupid laws like California did.</p>
<p>They&#8217;re more interested in destroying President Trump rather than securing America&#8217;s borders and backing those who are upholding the rule of law.</p>

Media is making their usual &#8220;big deal&#8221; out of things, but if you look closer eight of those days will occur over the Christmas and New Year holidays.</p>
<p>How has the government shutdown affected you? If we&#8217;re honest, we&#8217;ll say it hasn&#8217;t affected us one bit.</p>

<p>George III despised Samuel Adams, given the chance he would have killed him. His hatred ran so deep his majesty called the Revolution, &#8220;<em>Mr. Adams War</em>.&#8221;</p>
<p>Sam Adams was a great patriot. A terrible businessman, but a fiery statesman who told us our rights are articulated in Scripture.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s allow Scripture to speak and show how Paul demanded his rights as a Roman citizen.</p>
<p>&#8220;<em>But when they had stretched him out for the whips, Paul said to the centurion who was standing by, “Is it lawful for you to flog a man who is a Roman citizen and uncondemned?” When the centurion heard this, he went to the tribune and said to him, “What are you about to do? For this man is a Roman citizen.” So the tribune came and said to him, “Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?” And he said, “Yes.” The tribune answered, “I bought this citizenship for a large sum.” Paul said, “But I am a citizen by birth.” So those who were about to examine him withdrew from him immediately, and the tribune also was afraid,  for he realized that Paul was a Roman citizen and that he had bound him.</em>&#8221; Acts 22:25-29</p>

<p>Paul stood up to the rulers in Acts 16 after they had beaten him and Silas and tossed them in the hoosegow. However, the next morning the &#8220;powers that be&#8221; gave orders to &#8220;cut them loose.&#8221;</p>
<p>Paul says, Not so fast. If they want to free us, let them do it themselves.</p>
<p><em>&#8220;But when it was day, the magistrates sent the police, saying, “Let those men go.” And the jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go. Therefore come out now and go in peace.” But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us publicly, uncondemned, men who are Roman citizens, and have thrown us into prison; and do they now throw us out secretly? No! Let them come themselves and take us out.” The police reported these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Roman citizens. So they came and apologized to them. And they took them out and asked them to leave the city. So they went out of the prison and visited Lydia. And when they had seen the brothers, they encouraged them and departed.</em><em>&#8221; </em>Acts 16:35-40</p>

<p>Now that he&#8217;s stepped all over himself, he&#8217;s back-peddling. Typical career politician.</p>

<p>We&#8217;ve heard a great deal about our greatness and have been subjected to hearing elites, like the Cuomo&#8217;s, trash the nation.</p>
<p>However, let&#8217;s take a look to see <strong>Who</strong> is really responsible for America rising up as the world&#8217;s super power.</p>
<p>During the 1830&#8217;s a French political philosopher Alexis de Tocqueville trekked across America in search of her greatness.</p>
<p>&#8220;After a thorough examination he communicated in his book, <em><strong>Democracy In America</strong></em>:<em> &#8220;I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers—and it was not there. . . . . in her fertile fields and boundless forests—and it was not there. . . . .in her rich mines and her vast world commerce—and it was not there. . . . in her democratic Congress and her matchless Constitution—and it was not there. <strong> Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power.  America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.&#8221;<a href="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Unknown.jpeg"><img class="aligncenter wp-image-5513 size-full" style="margin-top: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px;" src="http://www.walkingthepoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Unknown.jpeg" alt="Unknown" width="275" height="183" /></a></strong></em></p>
<p>&#8220;<em>In other words, de Tocqueville said that our civil government will not work without the people being virtuous, which is the product of the religious influence of the church. Minsters were involved in every aspect of the public affairs, of America. They colonized and formed many of our states, they wrote our laws and (state) constitutions, they served as judges and lawyers, they established schools and universities, and they participated directly in civl government.</em>&#8221; <strong>(1)</strong></p>
<p>John Witherspoon is the only pastor to sign The Declaration of Independence. Witherspoon &#8220;<em><strong>literally</strong></em> <em><strong>discipled the nation</strong>&#8230;while President of Princeton he trained not only ministers but leaders in all areas of life. <p>Witherspoon had a huge impact training:</p>
<p>1 vice president</p>
<p>3 Supreme Court justices</p>
<p>10 Cabinet Members</p>
<p>12 governors</p>
<p>60 Congressmen (21 Senators and 39 Congressmen)</p>
<p>Plus many members of the Constitutional Convention and many state congressmen. <strong>(3)</strong></p>
<p>Witherspoon also said: <strong><em>He is the best friend to American liberty, who is most sincere and active in promoting true and undefiled religion, and who sets himself with the greatest firmness to bear down profanity and immorality of every kind.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>Whoever is an avowed enemy of God, I scruple not to call him an enemy of his country &#8230;&#8221;</em></strong></p>
<p>In order to stop tyranny Christians must become activly involved in civil affairs like Witherspoon. <p>We don&#8217;t know how America works, because we&#8217;re ignorant of scripture and when that happens &#8220;the man&#8221; (government) comes and wraps his hands around our throats.</p>
<p>As Horace Greely reminds us &#8220;<strong><em>It is impossible to enslave mentally or socially a Bible reading people. The principles of the Bible are the ground work of human freedom</em></strong>.&#8221; <strong>(4)</strong></p>
